In my previous post I mentioned trading thunderclaps - so how did the quark thunderclap work out?
In the end the Quark Thunderclap got postponed from April 7th to April 11th. It turned out to be quite a big affair. The press releases they were tweeting and facebooking during the thunderclap had some big announcements: they were being included on the Prelude exchange, and more importantly, the Shaq-fu Reborn game had decided to offer quarks as a unit of currency in the game (Shaq-fu had been a Nintendo game from the mid 1990's and the creators are working on relaunching it - they are currently raising funds and have more than half what they need).
If Shaq-fu reborn is a successful game, then quarks are to the moon. Obviously it's too soon to judge whether it will be successful - for our purposes just now, we're just assessing whether the thunderclap moved the quark price as the coin became more visible due to the promotion.
Here's the price chart from Cryptsy:

As you can see, after a bit of wobbling, the price did move.
The success of Thunderclaps depend very much on what their reach is, and whether they are used to announce genuinely price moving information. In this case, the quark thunderclap was successful. (I had bought on April 8th at 4079 satoshis, and sold at 4616 satoshis on April 11th, the day of the thunderclap - a decent 13% profit, though if I'd held on longer I'd have made triple)
